I like all the Halloween movies....
and I'm not hard to please....But I wasnt a fan of the trailer either...
The one thing that really jumped out at me was, It truly did look like they were rehashing many scenes from other Halloween movies....The bathroom scene looks like a complete steal from H20...
and Curtis's character made Zero sense....lol they are making her out to be some character whos been preparing 40 years for Micheal to escape so she can "Kill Him"....Yet....shes known where he is everyday for 40 years, why not just kill him at the jail....we certainly know by the opening sequence he cant he very hard to see him/visit since the camera crew clearly not only are visitiing him but also easily SNUCK A Michael Myers Mask threw security, certainly if its that easily to get to Michael, She could have setup a visit and SNUCK a Knife or gun in with her....
,
also, about a month ago...they screened this, a reports came out that People Hated the ending(which apparently is being fixed with reshoots) but another thing that was reported is exactly what you said.....Apparently there are a TON of scenes in the film that are exactly Rehashes from Previous Halloween movies, so many that one person who went to the early screening said it almost like your watching A new Halloween film, A New Story, But Every single Death scenes is copied from a previous Halloween film...
I dont know what to think at this point, I have great faith in "Blumhouse"....but I didnt like the trailer....Also I quite liked BOTH H20 and Resurrection....Not sure I'm going to like them basically being VOIDED now...
actually you know what I take that back....This new Halloween film VOIDS every Halloween sequel after Halloween 2....and there was some good ones...4 and 5 were very good...
So you know what, I'm just gonna consider this new Halloween kinda of a "One Off" or A "What If".....I'm not gonna completely act like the other Halloween dont exist, I'm just gonna go into this one thinking
This is just a "what If" type film.....
from me, the Halloween continuity will remain the same with the previous Halloween films and this New Halloween film will just be basically yet another reboot/What If Film...
I imagine what they are gonna do is have this film set up possible sequels with a Younger cast, Curtis will be the focus of this up, but however the film ends it will end with a setup for a sequel with new characters, younger characters...
so it really is just a REBOOT...
they are doing the exact same thing with the Terminator franchise right now...
I hope I like this film....but I think Its going to have too many things that bother me
