what all you Chum haters are forgetting...

...is the fact that if something like this happened to someone YOU knew- a close friend, family member, coworker, head of whatever religious congregation you belong to- you'd be singing a VERY different tune. Specifically with phrases like "Innocent until proven guilty!!", "It's not fair how this story is getting overexposed in the 24 news cycle we have!", "That's NOT the person I know- something else is going on.". You'd ALSO be standing by that person, unless you're some kind of spineless coward that bails at the first sign of trouble.

Celebrities are targets, and people can make whatever allegation they want regardless of whether or not it's actually true. I was accused of sexual assault once by a woman I was briefly involved with (who was bitter because she got dumped), and it turned into this whole big thing with a couple different agencies involved (she was related to one of the LE personnel as I recall). In this particular instance, I was **literally** on the other side of the U.S. during the time frame the alleged incident happened, so of course all charges were dropped and the whole matter was hushed up. When it was suggested that SHE be arrested for filing a false police report, all of a sudden it was "Well, she's clinically depressed and wasn't really aware of the consequences of what she was doing and she didn't have a father growing up and blah blah blah".

The point being: I was innocent, proved it quite easily, but prior to that certain people were ready to have me shot by a firing squad and then dump my body in the nearest river.

Honestly, I think the sexual assault charge is BS. The guns & drugs I'm not so sure about, because fame also attracts wannabe posse/gangbanger types who ARE involved in that kind of lifestyle. If he's gotten mixed up in something he shouldn't, I sincerely hope he gets the help he needs. Everyone makes mistakes. EVERYONE. You losers who are elated over this need to take a good hard look in the mirror and figure out why your lives are so empty and meaningless that you somehow get joy from the misfortune of others.

Very true. And I also have a horror story of my own, proved my innocence quite easily also. If the shoe where on the other foot, as a wise man once told me. He might have been a target, these people have to be esp. careful because they are "marks." Who knows the whole truth and as always innocent until proven guilty. He probably trusted the wrong person or people but we are all human.

Interesting and heartfelt post, but when it comes to Chumlee, I think it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Me too. Yet celebrity's get away with murder( OJ), pun intended, because THEY'RE A CELEBRITY! and if they are supposed to be a mentor or childhood hero or a respected member of the community, then they should set a good example and serve the time. It's like that piece ofS hit Willie Nelson, who refused to pay his taxes then before you know it he owes $16 million dollars in back taxes. Then he cries cause he doesn't want to go to jail. His friends decided to get raise money for him, and even help with their own money. I'm sorry but anyone WHO REFUSES TO PAY TAXES but cries when threatened with jail loses all respect. Here's a guy who's still a multi millionaire and he lets everyone else pay his taxes. WILLIE NELSON YOU'RE A BIG PIECE OFS HIT!

Nah, not when it comes to meth. If someone goes down that road to hell with 'em, I don't associate with that crowd and don't need their problems bleeding into and messing up my life. I've burned bridges with people for far less. No one with any brains starts taking meth. Now for the illegal firearms, it'll be interesting to see the details regarding that, since it's speculation right now if he can't own a gun because he's an ex-felon or what. But regardless, he works in a shop that sells guns, even if they are antiques. He should know the rules about what he is and isn't allowed to own in his state, so it'll be hard to pass this off as a mistake. But either way, when you get into the world of hard drugs and illegal guns you've crossed the line from being a dumb kid experimenting and are just a full blown criminal.

That said, you are right everyone deserves a second chance and it's innocent until proven guilty, but there's no debate that he was in possession of all this stuff, not when police found all of it on his property. "I was just holding onto it for a friend" isn't going to hold up in court. He's either going to prison for this or have a decade's worth of very strict probation.

Drugs, illegal firearms, possible sexual assault? Leaving your keys in the car is a mistake. No sympathy. The dude is an idiot until proven guilty.

So many a$$holes, so few bullets.

What is really telling to me is that he Tweeted Monday he was selling all his shoes "and a lot more" like he knew the *beep* was about to hit the fan...also kinda funny how he "works" cough, cough at a pawn store but he's putting them on eBay. What a statement about the pawn industry by one of its most well known figures...

You follow him on Twitter? Why?

reply

I don't follow him on Twitter.....it was all over the news about the "tweet" and on this and other threads...you moron. It was everywhere yet, you accuse me of being a "Chum" Fanboy? Go back to your trailer park son.

reply

You defeat your purpose when you call everyone who doesn't share your opinion a loser. You could've made your point and argument but in classic fanboy style you had to attack those who you feel are slighting your man crush.

That's where you're wrong. I have family members that range from a nun, and a chief of police, to first degree murderers and everyone else in between.

When we were raised, we were guilty until proven innocent, and we'd have rather dealt with the cops than our parents.

Chum's an idiot, and I could tell just from watching the show, that he was, at a bare minimum on pot (I couldn't care less), but the meth, weapons and sexual assault, I could see. He thinks he's all that and a Big Mac, and if some girl told him no, I could see him trying to take it anyway.

A man is innocent until proven guilty.

Yeah, by the courts, not by public opinion.

LoL no, not all of us would. Just because you have some bleeding heart when it comes to your friends and family being morons don't lump all of us into that. Like another poster stated I've had family be guilty of everything up to and including first degree murder and I never batted an eye at the fact they did prison time for it. They deserved it for being stupid.
