Jessica Barden stole the show.
She was the most interesting thing in the film along with Gemma of course. Great ending.

I agree! Wasn't all that keen on her character to be honest, but she acted it out brilliantly.
shareNo doubt the acting was quite good for a young actress. And while I couldn't stand that Ben character, she showed just how despicable she really was at the end when he was crying over his god. If she cared for him as a person she might have tried to console him. But she was just posing and grinning, getting her friend to take photos. Her infatuation with him was just sexual and a disproportionate desire to be close to a celebrity.

Agreed. She provided the energy that kept this movie rolling.

The character was so unappealingly written, acted and directed -- a total turn-off whenever she appeared, which was FAR too much. The film started well but the strange shift in focus to Jody really ruined it for me.
shareEvery tragedy needs an Iago and every comedy needs a Puck. I thought she did a wonderful job of being this film's Puck.
shareI agree. I found the Jody character hilarious, and extremely well played by Jessica Barden. I think it was the over-the-top kookiness and intensity of the character that worked for me.
Admittedly, her antics were annoying, which normally puts me off a character, but the antics generally stemmed from such weird reasoning that she went past annoying to screamingly funny.
She certainly kept the movie moving. Without the Jody and Casey characters, and the performances of Jessica Barden (especially) and Charlotte Christie, the movie would have been OK, but not great. They made it great.

Special mention to Jessica Barden! She is the real star of the film!!!
