The score was overbearing

They seem to use too much dramatic music in this film. Every scene almost seems to have a lot of weight on the music except the action scenes (for some strange reason). Even when it's just Jack flying around in the ship there is dramatic music. It makes the whole move seem over important. Maybe if this was a film where the universe was ending it would be important, but swimming around in a pool and making out for 15 seconds doesn't need music you would place at the climax of a film.

And it was really annoying.

The score was wonderful.

I respectfully disagree. I haven't read any other comments, but here's my opinion: Earth is barren, their domicile is spartan, her (beautiful) dress is simple, clean, and neutral. The score gives color, emotion, and impact. It's first rate. As is sound editing. I've seen this movie no less than 15 times (not all in entirety), and probably will continue to do so. The plot - awesome.

Agree with the OP. Hate music that tries to tell you how you're supposed to feel. I guess in a film this vacuous they felt they needed it.

Coz lifes too short to listen to Madlib

Agree with the OP also. Music was overwhelming that it was a distraction. Less is more in this case.

I thought it was perfect.

Oh so the battle for earth isn't important enough for you? I mean I believe there are more useless a-holes on this planet than almost anyone but I still think there's SOMEthing worth saving. Which song bothers you exactly? The title track makes me cry. Susanne Sundfor people. Look her up. One of the best voices in the world

I thought the soundtrack was best thing in the movie.

The soundtrack when they were banging in the pool is what made the movie for me. I looked to my girlfriend in that moment and said "god, how I wish we could do that". She nodded and agreed ed , :)
