This film is not for everyone, especially those that found it boring (many must be comic book-action flick movie lovers).

This is a contemplative, character study in the vein of the artsy-type films. Yes, it does not move along at action-movie speed because it is not supposed to. I would also not be surprised if the director of this is heavily influenced by people like Paul Schrader and Nicolas Winding Refn. The storytelling method is also quite similar to Stanley Kubrick's 2001 (it is not a science fiction theme, but just told in a similar manner).

Willem Dafoe's performance is something to see and it is also quite interesting when one actor is mainly required to carry an entire film.
