I thought I was watching a superior Marvel movie.

Reason is no Snyder

James Wan, the director, usually delivers.

I still liked WW a little better. But this definitely had a far superior 3rd act.

It is a decently enjoyable movie and fortunately unlike any Snyder DCEU movie. Yes. Nothing game-changing overall but it felt like what a true fun comic book movie should be compared to any DCEU flick minus WW.

That being said, it still is an inferior DC movie when put against... wait for it... Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy (and arguably Burton’s Batman films, too).

While Aquaman may have been more up my alley, Wonder Wonder was an all around better film as well. The Gal Gadot film had a less-than-stellar third act, albeit the movie was far less flawed than Aquaman. Aquaman has some real script problems. Also, as much as I enjoy spending time in these visually dazzling fictional worlds, Aquaman felt longer than it should have been. But with all that said, props to James Wan.

Great visuals in some particular parts. Overall a very meh movie. At least it was entertaining most of the time, which is a rare thing for a DCEU film. Nothing to brag about. Well, you can brag it is not rotten, yet...
