Is The Film Going To Be Over Shadowed By How Renee Looks?

I'm not her biggest fan but find she usually gives good performances in her films and have enjoyed the two previous Bridget Jones films. It does however seem that instead of focusing on the film all we are hearing is how Renee Zellweger looks! Yes she has had cosmetic surgery but to be honest she doesn't look that different and yes she is older, aren't we all?

It does seem a shame that even if the film is good it wont be given a chance as we are just hearing remarks about her face! I'm just glad i'm not a woman! lol.

Unfortunately for Renee I think that will end up being a big talking point. I always thought she looked different as Bridget due to the extra weight she used to put on for the role anyway, if you compare to how she looked as Roxy Hart in Chicago.

For me it's a big deal. I don't care about the weight or the aging - those would actually have been potentially fun plot points to include in a Bridget Jones movie. It's that she looks so different than before that it's like a different actress is playing the role. RZ was terrific in the role in the first two, but I don't think I will be able to watch the new one, and it's 100% because of how distracting her new look is.

Having just watched the trailer, I do not see how she looks any different, outside of being older. IF she had work done, it does not show in the trailer. Its not drastic like Jennifer Grey or anything. Who cares! She's still a talented actress, and it's nice to see her back in a movie. At least her's is getting released, unlike my Mel Gibson movie "Blood Father"....but that's another story all together.

I have to agree, I loved Renee's previous two performances, but do find her current stretched and in many ways, startled look quite odd. Saying that, couldn't the writers include something about Bridget choosing to use Botox as a way of easing herself back into the dating scene?

As soon as I noticed the film poster I thought, "Bridget Jones's Constipation"

Well whether you are bothered by how Renee zellweger looks or not, it doesn't seem to have damaged the film's potential with the biggest opening for a romantic comedy in the uk ever, interesting!

I saw her on a talk show and was stunned. She chopped her face more than Meg Ryan did.

I totally agree with you that RZ does not look very different at all.. I remember all of the hoopla when 1 photo of her came out, and I hardly recognized her. But, in the trailer she looks like RZ to me! Love your comment you are glad you aren't a woman! LOL! ;)

Thanks for the reply, glad you like my comment, it does seem that women have it worse when it comes to how they look, 'i'm not watching that, she looks terrible' I don't think anyone would say that about Brad Pitt.

Although do women get a certain pleasure out of seeing 'beautiful' actresses looking bad? Magazines are full of those kind of photos lol.
