Question to people who have read all 3 books

Contains spoilers
Ok so at the end of the last film/2nd book Bridget and mark darcy are together and in the last book we are given the idea that they got married, had children and a wonderful life together (albeit for a short time). So I'm guessing this film is about her not knowing her the father of her baby is (maybe) or at least she obviously has other love interests. This just doesn't fit with the other books.
Also when I first started reading about the boy I was devastated that Mark Darcy wasn't in it. By the end of the book however I didn't care one bit because it was such a good book/love story. I'm gutted they have chosen to not make that book into a film. I'm guessing it's all because Mark Darcy isn't in it.

OK, my thoughts are: They didn't follow the third book only because that way they can make a 4th movie and it will be following the 3rd book. Now the baby will be Mark's, they will get back together, be happy and then oops ... what happened in the 3rd book.

I don't like the idea of this 3rd movie, NOT AT ALL. I prefer the story from the book. But it is obvious they are trying to prolong the trilogy in 4 movies (at least). Which is not bad but sometimes can ruin it.

I think the 2nd movie deviated from the 2nd book but not so radically. As for the third book - SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER - I always am glad to read the Bridget Jones books but I was heartsick all the way through about Mark - not just that he died but the way he died - and I never felt the connection between her and the new guy. Whereas I read the first two books numerous times, I could only read the third once.

Mark Darcy dies...

After writing that comment, I read the third book again and this time I loved it. I think the first time SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER I was overwhelmed that Mark had died. And maybe I read it too fast. But this time, as I said, I loved it.

I hated the third book. Read it twice and it never got better in my opinion.
I read in an article somewhere that this movie is spanning the time between Book 2 and 3. Producers did not think enough Bridget fans would want to see a Bridget movie without Mark Darcy (I agree).

Has it been said that they won't make the third book a film? I haven't read it but heard what happens. I'd personally think they'd make the third book into a film (and soon), but there was to much potential in Bridget having a baby to simply overlook it and designed their own little stop gap of a profitable enjoyable movie.

they can only make the third book into a film if Daniel Craig is willing to be in it...
