shareI suppose that is possible, but from what I understand of the books (haven't read them yet), that wouldn't follow the books. Also this was kind of already done in Ascension (2014) tv series.
shareI've never read the books so I have no idea. Or the people in power (not the Mayor) know that it's safe outside and don't want to let the others know?
Maybe they are slowly rebuilding the outside world and it's not ready yet? Maybe they just enjoy the status quo?
Just read some wiki and the books don't seem to solve the mystery either.
Even worse, in the book 6 (describes the inception of the Silo) after people are moved in they take a pill that wipes their memories and they are told some apocalyptic event had taken place.
