While this film is nowhere near as good as the original trilogy, it was not a disaster. It was trying to recapture the thrill and excitement of those films. The opening 30 minutes was a definite call back to Raiders, Temple and Last Crusade. I was surprised by the ending. It took me by surprise as I did not expect the film to go in that direction.

The ending was every bit as wild as that of Crystal Skull but was much more interesting and well-executed, in my opinion. I actually wish they had spent a little more time in the ancient world and gone deeper with that rather than just scratching the surface before dragging Indy back to the modern day.
