We get it queen you hate Disney, you can stop trolling now after all these years, i guess this gives you the ammo to gloat doesnt it, notice you don't say the same about WB considering the disappointing numbers of the flash, still optimistic for that one aren't you, not forgetting Shazam 2 and Black Adam and other releases, yet Indiana jones, which hasn't been released yet, Disney are now in some doom and gloom state.
May i point out that Disney has 6 releases this year and has a 21% market share against Universals 11 releases and 23% market share, sorry where's the death spiral? id be more concerned about Warner Brothers, but then that doesnt suit your agenda against Disney, what happened, did they fire you whilst working at Disney Land?
I've been long done giving any money to Disney or to any Hollyweird product for that matter (I'm sure they wouldn't want my tainted deplorable dollars anyway) and I'll see this soon on an Android box via a suspicious overseas host, but I'm not the least bit optimistic after suffering through Crystal Turd.
The Little Mermaid is not doing well. That was such a strange occurence where so many in the media tried act like it was some major hit, I don't know if they thought they could 'fake it till you make it' and try trick people into thinking it's a must see film, after all IMDb artificially bumped up it's rating on their site too. The whole case definitely reeks of Disney PR doing damage control.
Some web searching says Mermaid is passed 450 million and might hit 500M domestic and international combined before it's theatrical run is through. I don't know if that's profitable (didn't see the budget) or not, but it's not a bomb either.
The Little Mermaids break even point is estimated to be approx $650 million. The budget for a lot of these films are out of control, you shouldn't be losing money when you gross $400+ million but here we are.
For the record the new Indiana Jones film is one of the most expensive films ever made. They're really playing with fire here.
TLM has a production budget of $250 million, then with a big marketing push of approx $100 million and with studios only getting 50% of the gross... you find yourself needing to make a ridiculous amount of money to break even.
Even more perplexing is that new Elemental film (pixars latest animated flick with zero big name voice actors), it cost $200 million to produce. At least TLM is a live action 'realistic' CGI heavy flick...Elemental costing that much is crazy.
They piss money down the drain. Disney (and other studios too) really need to keep these budgets in check. It's getting out of hand. You shouldn't be losing money when you gross half a billion.
I've seen sites claiming the marketing budget at $140m globally. Still baffled at the size of the production budget. Maybe McCarthy's food budget went wild.
Disney expected another Billion. It didn't come. Projections and potential earnings are down from what was expected.
This happened with Star Wars. They expect to make at least $1 Billion with each behemoth of a movie, sell a boat load of toys/merch, and drive people to Disney +.
Star Wars has been tanked. Now they've canned the movies and can't even get decent ratings in their crappy TV shows let alone produce and sell merch from the new content.
On the merch front, they've been eating out on baby Yoda for a few years now, and they were caught surprise by that one with no toys in production for season one of Mandalorian. That's maybe why season 1 was good, because Disney producers didn't have their hands all over it, and place their team of activists in the writing chairs.
You've been conveniently quiet. You always make sure to stir the pot about box office failures outside of your interests (DC). But when your own house is on fire you pretend nothing is happening. You're whistling past the graveyard.
No rockfly...I am commenting on a devastating trend at Disney. Yes the Flash disappointed but it IS the end of the DCEU and they are in the middle of a hard reboot. Course correction going on. Disney appears to be going full speed ahead I to the abyss.
But DC has released flop after flop, why is it that you think disney are heading to the abyss? Last released of disney made over 800 million??? How many flops have universal had this year? Are they heading into the abyss aswell?
Lol oh queen you said this was a sure fire billion movie a year ago, lol, is disney doing a hard reboot then?? Lol oh queen just give it up and delete your account disney wont hurt you anymore lol biggest troll on here , get over it queen, disney owns you pow lol
