HBO vs Hulu

First, I wonder why the interest in this story over 40yrs later. I don't get it.

Betty:
HBO's version had her more as an aggressive ball-buster who emasculated her husband.
HULU had her as a needy frump who was emotionally unstable.
In both versions, it seems she wasn't a local favourite.

Candy:
HBO. Elizabeth Olsen was the better actress.
Hulu. Jessica Biel looked the part.

Cast:
Something about Hulu's I liked better.

Axe scene:
HBO was okay, but the "axing" in HULU seemed more terrifying.

Judge Ryan:
Some consistency there. He hated Crowder in both versions.

Court:
HBO was far superior in covering the aspects in court. But HBO did have 2 more episodes to tell the story.

More Side-action:
HULU mentions Candy had a 2nd affair.
HBO never went there. If true, that's very relevant to the story. how could they miss that.

Cinematography:
HBO blew it out the park. Hulu looked like they grabbed some houses from the 70's that looked 40yrs old. HBO's 70's look was fresh and new like it would've looked in the 70's. You could see the work involved.

I think both versions covered enough to get the whole story, and I can see why it was a big story. Getting off after whacking the fuck out of someone 41 times is incredible. But even more shocking to me is her husband staying with Lizzie Borden Jr. She went buck wild on someone, and she had 2 affairs. Dude....why.

Candy and her husband did eventually divorce.

She did have another affair, supposedly with her business partner's husband.

I just discovered there's a Hulu version of this after making it part way through the HBO series. Love the comparison.

The husband as portrayed on the HBO series seems kind of spaced out and indifferent to Candy. Arguably there's some level of indifference there that partially drives the motivation for Candy's affair.
