1. couldn't do Shelby in Nikki's body ?
2. walked into the obvious gotcha trap that Shelby set up
3. AGREED to go back to his own body knowing the cops are outside
4. assumed that after all that BS Shelby would help him

Being stupid or a bad boyfriend doesn’t mean you deserve a life sentence for murder.

If she allows it over spite….Shelby is the true villain of the movie.
