Why so much white guilt?

I haven't finished watching "Inside". I've only watched half of it and will watch the rest later. I've been enjoying so far.

However, why the constant white guilt?

In half of the show I've seen:

"I dressed as Aladdin when I was a kid. I didn't darken my skin but I still think it was inappropriate. I should burn that costume".
So a white kid cannot dress as Aladdin? Can a black kid dress as Spiderman?

"I was born in Massachusetts where the vast majority was white".
A bit of random piece of information, except to apologize for being white in a white neighborhood.

"Useless things are in a white woman's Instagram".
I've seen black women's Instagram and it's exactly the same.

"The world needs a comedian like me to lead it. Another white man. White men have had the floor for 400 years".
Once again apologizing for being white and implying that today's thoughts should be defined by minorities, I guess.

I understand where he's coming from, I think. But seems too much "white guilt". Shake it off, you are allowed to be famous and popular in spite of being a white heterosexual man.

I think he is trying to mock “white privilege” and cancel culture and those who try to say everything is “racist” or try to make white people feel guilty for things that aren’t their fault.

This is in reference to BLM during the summer. He’s mocking the idea of the “great white hope” stories that exist in Hollywood, like the teacher that goes to the inner city school to teach and inspire.

You’ve got a point. I’m white, for halloween I dressed up as Judge Ito from the OJ trial when I was a kid. In college, I dressed up as Flavor Flav. I don’t feel bad, but I’m just glad someone advised me not to do blackface cause I know there’s a picture of me out there.

MA had a lot of racism built in to the city planning, red lining in this countries past. He doesn’t want to contribute to the problem further.

There’s a part where brings up his old songs from YouTube when he first started. Songs which contained slightly vague racist or homophobic jokes. He’s evolved as a comedian. Those jokes were low hanging fruit and hacky and he has some guilt that those shot him to stardom. He wants to be a better artist.

i knew conservatives would be upset by this

I'm not, though.

Why so much singing is my question? Just make me laugh.

Fear that the movie would not be distributed without it perhaps. Sign of the times.

Agree on all points except the last one.

"The world needs a comedian like me to lead it."

But your not funny. All you do is bad singing and think it is amazing. The fact that Netflix distributes hi "stand up" is still a mystery.
