shareracism isn't about logic or reason. Hate is irrational.
shareIf I had employees in my house all the time, they would have their own designated bathroom, even if they were white. Both I and they would feel more comfortable that way.

But it was about keeping black people and white people apart.
As soon as everybody can use the same bathroom, they will be equals.
And a lot of people in the 1960s weren't ready for that.
Elizabeth Mobley's husband does tell her that separate bathrooms are not economically sound. He would rather spend the money on something else. But he doesn't protest too much because he wants his wife to 'feel good'. So there is some pushback.
