Why did Suko try to have Kong killed?

By luring him to the lake where the Drownviper was, Kong showed him nothing but kindness and patience I mean suko did attack him first and Kong used him as a bludgeon to attack the other apes but still.

I think he thought Kong killed his parents

I think that, in the beginning, the young ape was unsure if Kong was a friend or foe.
