Movies like this should start with a bang. Start with a bang it did not. Do you love Harrison Ford though? If you do, you should enjoy this. He’s all over it! It’s starts with him and ends with him. He’s serious, he’s angry, he’s confused, he’s sad, he’s happy…I respect him a lot and enjoyed a lot of his movies but let’s be honest, he’s getting old and it showed here. Not enough action and too much Harrison Ford. These are the two main issues. On the plus side, Tim Blake Nelson played the villain very well and the majority of the cast did a good job. Also, im a sucker for 3D movies at the theatre, I just love the experience. My rating: 6.5/10
I enjoyed it. It wasn't all that. Mediocre for sure, but a fun two hours. I've seen every MCU movie in theaters and plan to keep that up, at the least.
Problem is, by the time you're #35 in a franchise, hard to really stand out. And even if Endgame isn't your favorite, it's hard to argue the fact that that's an inherently tough film to follow, being the quintessential climactic pay-off. Especially paired with Infinity War. Not every movie can reach such heights. Nor should they, it would be exhausting.
But I like the Sam Wilson character, though he's no Steve Rogers. Steve's longevity gives him a mysticism that Sam just can't reach. And Harrison Ford turning into the Red Hulk was a lot of fun. But, Betty could've been used a bit more, and it would've been a great place for Hulk to reappear, helping to further reconcile the recasting of the character. And hey, if they'd brought those two back, there could've been a love story involved, and helped it reach that 2.5 hour mark that the epic MCU movies love.
I also enjoyed that they brought back Celestial Island
I haven't seen the majority of Marvel films----I just simply enjoyed this film as a standalone all on its own. Saw this film with nearly a full crowd, and at least half that same crowd actually waited around until the end of the credits to see the latest post-credit sequence. I could care less how it's supposed to connect up with all the other Marvel films---I just enjoyed it for the fun and entertaining action packed superhero flick that it was. The characters came off as very relatable and fun, and just plain funny at times. And the action scenes were fun as hell, too. Who cares if Sam Wilson isn't Steve Rogers? He's Sam Wilson aka The falcon, and that's all that matters in this film.
Being that this was a sequel to The INCREDIBLE HULK, not having Banner in the movie made 0 sense when everyone else returned, unless it just would've looked awkward having Ruffalo take credit for a movie Edward Norton was in??
first review i read that made me want to see this. I love Harrison Ford but figured he'd be mostly a CGI monster. I wanted to get my Air Force One fix with this flick.
