Harder to suspend disbelief for New Cap

So I like Mackie as the new captain America, but just like in Falcon and the winter soldier, his feats are harder to swallow without him being a super soldier!

I get the vibranium suit is supposedly boosting him, but there were so many moments in this movie where Sam should have been straight up dead, suit or no!

How is Red Hulk explained in this or introduced? Is it still Banner?

reply

No.

It’s Ross.

Even the trailers reveal that.

He’s also Ross in the comics.

It's interesting how this is a Sequel to The INCREDIBLE HULK with the characters back from that except for Liv Tyler who's role was less than 30 seconds and at the end of the movie for Heaven sake!! 😂 How much was she paid for this?? Who knows?? RED HULK gets his origin from some tiny pills designed to be Nitro Glycerin Pills for President Ross for his heart unaware that it's Gamma Radiation he's been feeding into his body for years and when he gets pissed off like in the movie, his temperature goes up, his pupils turn Red and he HULK'S out and he looks good for what it's worth and anyone who says otherwise simply has too discerning of an eye for FX. I do wish Bruce Banner were in the movie since he was mentioned in name only from The LEADER and President Ross, but since Edward Norton was the Star of The INCREDIBLE HULK and not Ruffalo, that's why he wasn't in it and it would've looked just odd taking all of the credit for Norton's HULK

When RED HULK punched him and he flopped across the ground hitting one vehicle after another would've killed him without the Adamantium suit(Not Vibranium anymore since Disney owns the rights to the X-MEN) However, a shot in the ass with the super soldier serum wouldn't be a bad idea either and I think he knew that. I just can't believe an Adamantium wing to the gut stopped RED HULK that fast. The INCREDIBLE HULK wouldn't have stood for that shit and would've went full WORLD BREAKER HULK over it and killed Sam

Sam was using the Wakandan Vibranium suit, not an upgraded Adamantium suit, in the fight against Red Hulk.

Sam should stop being stubborn and simply get the shot in the ass with the Super Soldier Serum and he'll be unbeatable relatively speaking

A newbie Ant-Man kicked his ass.

Making him Capt. America was a ludicrous decision that was just part of Marvel’s DEI checklist.

I don’t care that it happened in the comics — temporarily.

Right! Like when he was falcon, he was never a Frontline hand to hand guy unless it was another human, because sams squishy ass would have gotten punted!

But now somehow he's mxing it up with super soldiers and red hulk without being crippled.
My favorite wtf moment was when hulk swung a flagpole at him, which cap caught and stopped with his bare hands, and I noticed his gloves are still fingerless! His digits would have shattered from that impact!

The more I think about it, the more appropriate it would've been to have Betty Ross be the one who calmed the RED HULK back down to her Dad doing the whole "Sun's getting low Big Guy............Along with the box office for this movie" for a laugh 😂

reply

Thought of that too but it would've been too cliche.

I liked that they addressed that in the film, and were consistent in showing him as only human. In nearly every fight he gets hurt, often badly, and relies on allies to step in and assist him. I never felt like he was depicted as overpowered. He's trained in combat, and in good physical shape, but in no way superhuman. Even his vibranium suit and the shield only serve him to an extent, and there was never a moment where I felt I had to suspend my disbelief.
