Imagine IF Captain America 4 was about BUCKY taking over the role as Captain, and in addition to starring Sebastian Stan, they brought back Liv Tyler AND Edward Norton as Betty Ross & Bruce Banner for the FIRST time since 2008 AND brought in Sam Elliott to play Gen. "Thunderbolt" Ross for the FIRST time 2003... basically they'd be merging three cinematic universes and giving us a direct sequel to The Incredible Hulk AND a new Captain America spinoff film combined.

It WOULD have been epic, up there with X-Men: Days of Future Past and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

But nope, we get Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford.

Meh, I'll pass.

but Steve Rogers gave him the Shield at the end of Avenger Endgame also John Walker wasnt Captain America Material.

Really, it made more sense for Bucky Barnes to take over since he's still the Winter Soldier no matter what. I think the next AVENGERS movie isn't going to make as much $$$$ as we're accustomed to seeing from PHASE 1, mainly because they're going with 2nd and 3rd Tier heroes from Disney+ complete with diversity shoved down our throats like SHE-HULK, WANDA, SHANG CHI,

But I don't think the next AVENGERS is going to make the $$$$ PHASE 1 made, mainly because it's female oriented and too heavy on the diversity for the average audience

Joogle is wrong with just about everything, so if he says it's going to make money, it's 100% going to under perform. And you're right - with the fem-centric DEI cast (Avengers from Temu) plus the fact that this genre hit saturation point with Endgame, there's no way it's going to make anywhere near what the Phase 1 movies made.

I agree that Bucky would have made more sense to have as a Cap replacement.

After all, Captain America was always more about the... now out of fashion, old style patriotism and pure heart heroism of Steve Rogers that would be lost with a modern replacement.

Now, BUCKY could play up that same out of time man trope.

And of course, NOT change his name. Carry the shield, use the shield as a tribute to Captain America but not a replacement.

Also, the terrible racial shit from the disney plus series? Ruins the Falcon character as a replacement for Captain America.

It is...divisive to use the character now, who talked shit on this country so much, to use him as CAPTAIN AMERICA.
