shareIt is believable. Because we had players that size. We had one guy who was 6'1" and maybe 140 lbs he was so skinny. He was on our offensive line!
shareWhat I noticed during his college years is how the football aspect played zero role in the plot. I think they showed 2 practices total, one game highlight where he fumbled and there was 1 party that involved the football team.
Other than that there was no realistic aspect of him being a college athlete. One episode he and his roommate wanted to try and put on some weight and strength right before school started and the new season would be starting and they were hanging out at the Heck house doing pushups and curling milk jugs and trying to eat more.
College football players are on strength coach planned workouts almost year round. The monitor their workouts and gains and their diets. They have a target weight and strength target for each player. An OL may eat 5,000 calories a day to get up to 310 pounds for whatever. A DB may have strength gain goals but they won't want them to put on too much weight, they'll keep them at their 190 weight. They workout together as teammates. They don't just goof off away from the team all off season and them try and bulk up at the Heck house.
Then, they had no where to live and lived in that RV. College football players live in the football dorms with some non athletes mixed in because of some NCAA politic crap. They aren't just wondering the campus looking for a home....curling milk cartons to try and get stronger.
As a college football fan.....it was silly.
