‘Cliffhanger’ Reboot: Lily James and Pierce Brosnan to Star for Director Jaume Collet-Serra

Looks like the same plot the sequel had that was reported a while ago, just retooled as a reboot for Brosnan/James. I'm guessing there were creative differences with Stallone/director with the studio? or maybe studio figured Cliffhanger didn't really warrant a 'legacy sequel' a'la Top Gun in terns of iconography/iconic characters and that a remake with Bond/Dantes Peak Brosnan and Cinderella/Mamma Mia's Lily James would be a better bet and/or cheaper? (plus Stallone nearly 80, Bronson just turned 70)
