I believe the bonus materials on the DVD explain, indirectly, that she was a "crisis apparition," projected by someone in great distress. Nonetheless, she wasn't real, so anyone walking past would have seen Charlie humping the sod in the graveyard. Ew.

whoever put the comment dont read the boards before you see the film is wrong because there is such a thing people use on boards to warn those who havent yet seen seen a movie, it's called SPOILERS. the OP should really have used this in his thread title. Also of course people can come to message boards before theyve seen a film, some people like to find out things about them BEFORE they watch them such as is it appropriate for children e.g
