so....drug-induced underwear chase is the highlight of a $200m movie?

I am having trouble understanding how this movie...looks like shot mostly a bluescreen has one action set piece. It is a prolonged chase of a young man racing around town in his underwear. There is riveting dialogue for the near 10 minute sequence - young man grunting.

Spiderman know-how is put into this by the director.

Sad waste of talent - Pitt and Clooney cannot elevate this at all.

It's quite entertaining albeit a bit simplistic.

reply

Well the star power is undeniable. You could watch both pick out paint and be entertained. Which was very close to what was onscreen here.

reply

Stick to DHX Media productions, they are perhaps more your tempo.

reply

šŸ˜‚ LOL!

It's a Brad Pitt and George "f-cking" Clooney vehicle... Usually an entertaining putdown but in this context... Nearly choked on my tea reading this!

EDIT: Just to note the above poster has now changed his original comment from "Stick to Michael Bay movies..." to its current form. My response was laughing at his reply in that context, i.e. that a Pitt / Clowney production could genuinely be envisaged by anyone as being of a higher artistic merit.

Perhaps it might be me, but I feel like every movie that's ever gone straight to streaming just aren't that good when compared to releasing them in the theatre?? Is there any truth to this for some of you?? Maybe you can only do so much for a budget on straight to streaming type of movies??

reply

Definitely the case. There is less and less quality. Studios don't want to risk big budgets with no IP. Hence the endless sequels and law of diminishing returns. Less talent all around creating terrible products. You have innovative films with low budget, less talent - hard to make a home run.

If it was a hot woman in her undies, Iā€™d be interested.

Thanks for the warning.

Iā€™ll skip.

These days you will likely not see that from Hollywoke. Maybe a man dressed as a woman.

The underwear chase scene was the lowpoint of the movie. This shouldā€™ve been a sleazy, gritty Tarantino-type comedy, as it starts out for about the first 30 minutes. But the slowmo backflip took me out of the movie. All of the sudden it wants to be a buddy action movie? At some point their job of being ā€œwolfsā€ barely matters anymore. They could be hitmen, detectives, drug dealers, journalists, etc.

reply

It looked a lot like a Marvel movie action scene. The director did Spiderman movies.
