Not Entirely Honest or Revealing

I enjoyed the doco series, but there were a few things left out.

Firstly, Joe Jackson's physical and sexual abuse of his children. Michael spoke of the physical abuse. Latoya of the sexual. Janet mentions neither. Why is that? Had Joe mellowed by the time she came along? Even so. She should speak to these serious allegations.

Secondly, we don't really hear how she really felt about the Michael Jackson allegations of child sexual abuse. In one version, she says that it "wasn't in him" but in another version (shown on Stan in Australia) that entire part is edited out! I want to know, IN DETAIL, how she feels about the latest allegations detailed in LEAVING NEVERLAND especially. This was the perfect opportunity to counter and set the record straight, and like most things, Janet doesn't go there.

Thirdly, WHY NO MENTION OF HER BABY DADDY? Janet goes into detail about her two failed marriages, but not the third to Wissam Al Mana. Was so dishonest and disrespectful to the audience who had made the long journey thru this doco for her to not even go there. How rude!

And finally, the Superbowl. Janet had the perfect opportunity to come clean and admit it was staged for publicity but that they had misread what the reaction would be. Instead we have no real questions on it, Tito speaking on her behalf that she didn't do it, then footage of her calling it an 'accident'. It was no accident. The song lyrics sung by Justin was 'I'm gonna have you naked by the end of this song', he grabs for her breast, he pulls down, the breast is revealed, and she doesn't cover it up. ADMIT TO IT!

So over all, for me, this doco failed. And that angers and disappoints me. The Jackson family have never come clean about what goes on--Latoya came the closest in the early 90s. I just wish Janet did too.

I gotta agree with you in a lot of ways.

If the Super Bowl thing wasn't staged, then tell us what was supposed to happen.

Justin says, "bet I'll have you naked by the end of this song" and rips the flap from her boob.

I know he didn't just do that on his own. If he had, there'd be criminal charges coming for him.

The only thing that they could argue is that maybe she was supposed to have another piece of clothing over her boob, but that wouldn't make sense with the song lyrics. She could indeed have come clean and admitted that she misread what the reaction would be and spared us the headache.

Overall, I liked the doc because it reintroduced me to Janet's brilliant work with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, two of my favorite producers, but you're right it's very surface level stuff and shallow.

Yes. Lots of holes in this one. Thats why documentaries about famous people are more interesting when they are made by other people. Because celebs love themselves too much to touch anything risky.

Michael Jackson family collectively decided to ignore all accusation and dont believe them. Because... obviously. Michael Jackson is their cash cow even when he is dead. So no wonder Janet ignored it. Well from their perspective - none of them actually saw him doing anything. They just hear it in press. So they prefer to live in denial.

But whats funny - she was whining so much how her whole career was overshadowed by Michael. Yet SHE was one one that kept and kept bringing him up for no reason in her OWN documentary)))) Because... well... for ratings. To milk his fame again and again. While simultaneously whining that his fame was preventing her from being her own star.... It was laudable. I literally rolled my eyes when she kept doing it.

In denial of what?
Exactly why do you think that they should believe some money-grabbing bastards over their own brother?

He was creepy paedo, I’m sorry if you are fan. But he was. Its not about one or two accusers.

He was grown man that was picking up random poor boys and bring them to his house, on his tours and forced them to live with him. He was telling them he was their "best friend forever". And then threw them out like garbage once they "aged out" of "boys" and were becoming teenagers. And they dint understand why he did it. They just clicked on tv one day and saw how they were replaced by new, younger boy that was now traveling with Michael Jackson everywhere.

Thats creepy and not normal.

But that is just lies and bullshit.

About Superbowl.

She and her woke defenders keep crying how unfair people were treating her. Yet none of them understand why. Its because SHE LIED and didnt own up to her mistake. Never once she said the truth: "Yes, I did it for attention. It backfired. I’m sorry. It was stupid thing to do".

And public and press would let it go.Back then. But celebrities can never truly admit of wrong going. Its always someone elses fault. But she cant blame it on anyone here. She did it. She lured Timberlake on it who was too stupid to fell for that plan. But he was up and coming solo artist and she was mega superstar and he went with her plan. But then he some sort of owned it and apologized. And people let him off the hook.

But it was her body, her boob and her plan. And she never apologized for it and lied about some "wardrobe mulfunction". Which angered people because she was treating them like they were idiots and did not understand what has happened. And even now, so many years later, when no one cares about it anymore .... she still didnt admit it. And just skipped it.

There was nothing wrong to admit it now. Its different times. And she payed her price. No one hates her for it. People moved on. But still she is unable put the record straight and admit.

But I guess that she simply doesn't want to remember it or bring it up.
She has probably regretted it ever since and feels no need to remind people of her past mistakes.

About "Joe Jackson's physical abuse"

In her defense I assume that she was too young and didnt suffered from him. And didnt witness it.

She was the youngest child. Little golden girl. And when family was rich enough. She wasnt born to poverty. And was cute little girl. And I think everyone treated her as such. And no one was running around and abusing her. So from her perspective her father wasnt treating her bad. She didnt saw evil side of him and cant complain about it.

Not to mention that many parents treat differently of their kids. They can treat one good and other bad.

Ah, so you’re in Australia. And have an interest in the Jackson family, and sexual abuse of minors..

I once knew a guy like that but he went into the night 🤔
