Interesting History, Cliched Film

The story of Danny Greene and the Cleveland Mafia is an interesting slice of American crime history, but this movie is a cliched mess. Cop and criminal who grew up in the same neighborhood (check). Criminal handing out turkeys during the holidays (check). I was hoping Henry Hill would stroll in from a better movie and say...You can do better than this.

It's a shame because the cast definitely had potential. Ray Stevenson was so perfectly cast as Titus Pullo in Rome, but here he just seems uncomfortable. The only actor who rises above the material (and does a decent Ohio accent) is Vincent D'Onofrio as John Nardi.

Food in Films: Nardi loves his spaghetti and broccoli while Danny just wants to eat something with less cholesterol.
