Poorly acted, written and produced

I can't believe this film's rating. This movie comes off like a film student's attempt at recreating a mobster movie with no budget. Am I missing something that makes this film a miracle? Good actors, poor acting. The writing is lame, the special effects are horrible, and everything else about it screams "low budget"

The OP is not wrong. Sadly, this film misses the mark, especially during the first 60 mins. The cast looks great on paper but the script and direction lack a certain class.

I thought that the performances of the actresses playing both of Danny's love interests were equally appalling.

Another small point is that when Ray Liotta starred in Goodfellas he looked convincing as 'young' Henry; whereas Ray Stevenson really didn't manage to pull-off a convincing 'young Danny'... whether it's down to make-up, genetics or middle-age I don't know but it made the love-match of young (but looking old) Danny & young Wifey #1 seem a little odd.

I watched this movie today and really wanted to enjoy it, being from that part of Ohio myself. I think my biggest beef was the lead actor. He just didn't fit the part for me. At the beginning he's supposed to be playing a "young Irish-American". Nothing wrong with being an older guy at all but perhaps if they would have done a dual actor - use a younger guy for the early years and then let Mr. Stevenson take over later. Don't know. This is only amplified by his wife. Linda Cardellini who has a very youthful appearance. I know in real life his wife was much younger than him, so maybe it works. He's been amazing on other things but this was just a strange fit for me. Not sure if this was due to poor direction or what. Other than that, I would give this movie an average or a "B-/C+" rating. I watched it on cable, I think that is a good way to see it.

This is one of the best films I've seen in a while.

What we have here is failure to communicate!

Vincent D. saying "you are breaking my balls" was the proof in the pudding and a perfect "moment of impact" summary of how creepily bad this film was altogether. What a joke. That's what you get for trying to write about the CLEVELAND mafia. Dumb dumb.

You look like the poster boy for birth control.

You are so full of *beep* This is one of the best movies ever made. GREAT acting, writing, and directing.

This is Ray Stevenson's best since Punisher War Zone. This is the best gangster movie since Goodfellas, and personally, I like it a lot more. Then again, I am Irish myself.

Denofrio and Stevenson were AMAZING in this. *beep* you!

Vincent D.brings the movie down.He must know someone..whew.
Otherwise, the film could have been a classic...but too many
good actors simply mailed it in!
