Why do all the sequels to Stephen King's stories suck?

The Rage: Carrie 2

Children of The Corn II-VIII (1992-2011)

The only passable one was either CotC2 or Carrie 2.

I liked Dr Sleep a lot, but that was adapted from a King book.
