It was a good movie. I'm not a Bale fan, but he was good for this role. His character is pretty much how I see him. A slob. I thought Harry Melling as great in his role as Poe, and pretty much everyone else was well-cast.

Stories with twist tend to get on my nerves because they're usually too contrived to be logical. Just thrown in because. This twist was well-done and flowed with the story. Though I'm not too sure about Lea's motive. Maybe I missed something.

Overall I think it was a good slow-burn.

I didn't hate it but I thought it was mediocre at best. It looks good, solid cast and unlike you I pretty much always like Bale, but there's not really anything to his role. You get some backstory which comes into play at the end but other than that he's just a fairly regular guy. The mystery itself isn't very interesting and he kinda just suddenly figures it out without much buildup. By the time the twist came around I just wanted the movie to be over.
