Movies That Got Time Travel Right

Twelve Monkeys

...and that's all I can think of. Don't get me wrong, I loved this movie, but I think they left quite a few holes in the time-travel plot. Any others?

reply

I think Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban nailed the whole time travel thing

reply

What? Nobody knows how time travel works, or if it is even a feasible thing. FAIL post.

What about Napoleon Dynamite?

The Terminator was good, but then again the plot is very simple. I guess Groundhog Day is ok too, though it's not time traveling per se.

A little hint: if Twelve Monkeys is your reference point in anything (plot, acting, script...), you're going to have hard time finding anything equally as good.

there's a lot of comments on here so I wont go through them to see if this has been mentioned but check out Primer. Its actually not that well known and cheaper budget but its hard core technical, it has more depth than any other movie ive seen surrounding time travelling or matrix/ inception stuff. But just not so entertaining is all. But check it. Anyways when i read your post 12 monkeys came up immediately.

I cant believe people havent mentioned Primer. ALso there was a low budget British produced film, where a mans wife dies and he travels bakc in time to save her, and by repeating his mistake he ends up spawning 4 of himself. It was very small production and the actors werent that good, but the though put behind it is great.

The problem is the Alternate Universe thing, not time travel. See the time turner from HP: Prisoner of Azkabhan.

Twelve Monkeys, The Terminator.

Twelve Monkeys has holes in the time-travel plot? I don't see any.
