So they have Bonnie pick Enzo, just for Enzo to treat her badly

during his no humanity and she's going to take his verbal abuse as she tries to get him to turn back on his switch? I never excused anything that the vampires did without their humanity switch on. But to have Bonnie pick Enzo, just for her to struggle through getting him to turn back on his switch.

Saying that she choose her happiness and yet making her suffer through something yet again, where she has to go through some kind of pain and emotional turmoil yet again for the sake of trying to save and help someone else, rinse, wash, repeat of how she was willing to put her physical or emotional well being to the side before in the name of saving one of her friends/boyfriends.

reply

yes I did not like that either. The writers love to dump on Bonnie that's for sure.

reply

These writers have always sucked when it came to Bonnie's love life.

reply

That's true. The writers always suck when it came to Bonnie. It would have been better if Bonnie was able to get through to Enzo, then her and Enzo try to save Damon together.

....or Enzo was trying to save her. Personally I'm getting a little tired of Bonnie always have to save everyone. For once I would like the group to get together and save her.

You mean like last season.

reply

She doesn't have her magic to cause her pain anymore, I guess this has to do for now. Smh.

My ass may be dumb, but I ain't no dumbass...

reply

I hear you, and I normally agree, but I am ok with this storyline because it's pretty consistent with the show. It isn't really a Bonnie thing, all the girls on this show have to be mistreated by their men. It's really the only storytelling Plec is capable of.

reply

It's not a Bonnie thing. And you know this outrage is shipper fuelled because Damon has said and done far worse to Bonnie than what Enzo is *yet* to do in the next episode but that didn't stop them from shipping Bamon.

reply

You're shipper fueled for Bonenzo/Enzo and just have a bias/obsession towards Bamon/Damon fans to the point that it clouds all of your debates that you want to bring up. All of the bad things that Enzo has done doesn't ship you from shipping Bonenzo either.

You look for reasons to look past all of the bad things that he has done to spin him into a good man and a good love interest for Bonnie, no different from all of the other shippers of the problematic ships of TVD.

reply

Lol for real, we all know that they'd love this storyline if it were Bonnie trying to get Damon's humanity back. They wouldn't count it as Damon mistreating Bonnie, either. They didn't count it as Damon mistreating Bonnie in 7x21.

reply

Like how DE fans don't count a lot of things that Damon has done towards Elena as mistreating her or DE as abusive/toxic. Excusing the sire bond and everything so.

reply

Damon refused to sleep with Elena after learning about the sire bond despite the fact that it only affected her actions, not her wants or desires. So that one is irrelevant. The only thing you have is Jeremy, which is completely irrelevant, so admit you're a hypocritical crack shipper and move on.

reply

You can't really use the abusive/toxic argument against DE when BD is the most toxic relationship on the show. It's right up there with KC.

reply

I mean they got an actual abuse montage lmao.

reply

Bonnie and Enzo need to earn their chance at happiness just like every other character on the show, nothing comes easily to anyone.

Because it's the last season the writers need the audience to root for them and feel a sense of validation and eventually, righteous happiness for their happy ending.

No pain, no gain, lol, don't worry, Bonnie will be a hero and happy too.

We're all on our way out, act accordingly.

reply

You after Damon insulted her in the bridal shop and tried to murder her, it would have made any sense for Bonnie to save him? You have a funny definition of self respect.

reply

Because you define all of hers by being for Enzo, shipper bias and bias for ENzo, as much as you want to accuse Bamon fans. Your Anti Bamon/Damon and pro Enzo/BE impacts your bias on things.

Now deflecting on all of ENzo's wrong doings and flaws.

reply

My preference for the MoC who was shown fighting to hold onto his humanity and save as much innocents as he could over the your white fave who verbally and physically brutalized Bonnie? Yep, guilty as charged. Give me shipper bias under those circumstances any time of the day over your unexamined internalized self-loathing racism.

reply

I'm not sure what show you are watching but i'm pretty sure Enzo isn't the first person that has flipped his humanity switch and has been cruel to the people he/she loves. Bonnie is tough and she will deal, just like Elena had too when Stefan was all mean.

reply

Wait, is this thread about something that hasn't happened yet? idgi...

reply

Well, technically it already happened "off-screen" last episode because we hear Caroline on the phone telling Stefan that Enzo has been saying mean things to Bonnie.

But we don't see this because Bonenzo aren't in the episode. We really have no context of what those mean things are. It could be Caroline-without-her-humanity "I'm going to sing bad Karaoke and force you to listen while I play Mean Girl-esque games with my exes..." or it could be Damon-level "Always the bridesmaid, never the bride... Not only am I stuck with you, I'm stuck with the useless version of you."

Whichever the case, just about every girl on this show has gone through that phase with her boyfriend or even been the one to dish out the insults. So I'm not sure why we're supposed to be wringing our hands in horror at Enzo saying mean things to Bonnie.

And, of course, it begs the question of why this user didn't start these type of threads for every time that Damon treated Bonnie badly during the course of 8 seasons on this show.

reply

Bonnie and Damon have never been a couple. We already know he treats her like *beep* like all of her other friends. It just sucks that it's the last season and she can't really catch a break.
