shareIt better be to break the link between Bonnie/Elena at least and allow Bonnie to live at the end of the series without having to die to bring Elena back. Otherwise during the last episodes what plot is he good for. And this would only be JP trying to use everything that she can for attention and ratings to the last season of her show including Chris/Kai and even BK fans.
She knows that for as angry and upset that Kai/BK fans are with her, that they will get excited for any kind of scenes between Kai/Bonnie and give some sort of more buzz/attention to her show.
Heard that her was filming scenes with Ian, since the whole Damon/Stefan in hell deal. But, it should be to break the link at least, because it would really show how JP would bring back Kai after he got his head chopped off, but still say that there is no loophole for Bonnie to have the link broken. Proves that she would be willing to go back and have loopholes for everything else.
Loopholes for Caroline to be able to get pregnant.
Loopholes for others to come back from the dead.
Loopholes for someone to come back to life after getting their head chopped off.
But, no loopholes is she willing to write in to benefit Bonnie? that smells fishy.
I believe the link is breakable. Knowing this show the answer will be resurrecting Kai, since his "death" made it permanent.
I would looove to see Kai again, but I don't trust this lady at all so I am definitely not getting my hopes up.

For the love of God can Plec never stick to a decision!? As much as I love Kai I don't want him on this show again. Julie Plec will plot out a ridiculous nonsensical storyline, use him to *beep* on Bonnie, and then kill him in another degrading fashion. I don't want it.

Kai's head was detached from his body. If bends over backwards to find a plot and a loophole where he can be brought back to life for real, but the link with Bonnie is still there with Elena. It will prove how much effort she is willing to put in for all of the other character except for Bonnie. But, she always has an excuse for the pain and suffering that she keeps Bonnie in.
She would be willing to even go all out for one of her villains, but then act clueless if someone points out how she treats Bonnie different from the others. Shows how fake that she is when she acts upset about Trump/race issues. Kai is back and it's her chance to undo one of the biggest things that she has done against the Bonnie character.
I wouldn't be shocked if the way to sever the link was a pastel colored easter egg, or worse, and I gag at the thought of this: true love's kiss.
I think every single spell that was considered unbreakable on this show, has been broken, but like you said, this involves Bonnie so she would have to actually care about her future happiness. The oversaturation (and I'm not saying this in a bad way) of Bonenzo just might be telling. I have a feeling that link won't be broken and Elena will resurrect once Bonnie dies, the bigger question is when. Will she die an old woman in her bed? Or, at 25 sacrificing herself for someone.

and if Chris returns then could get some of the Supergirl fandom interested as well, as Mon-El is adorable
shareHmmm that could be another trick that JP is trying to do, bring in some supagirl fans because ratings for the last season of TVD haven't been impressive. She needs as much buzz as possible, especially if Nina doesn't return.
