This could be a false news but it is interesting. And some fans have already speculated that it could be Damon who is dying. It has been speculated that Kai had lied about something related to Elena's condition.

I dont get why everyone is talking about Damon or Enzo taking the cure.. maybe i dont remember this right but when Kathrine took the cure, didnt she become old like right away? She was 500 years old and she started to become that age right? I mean Damon 178 and Enzo is probably around that age too. If took the cure wouldnt tjek just die from old age really fast?
The only reason why Elena (and Caroline) could take was because they are still young..

Damon killed Katherine by having Silas drink the cure from her. That's when Katherine started aging. As long as the cure is in Damon he'll be fine. So no sharing with Enzo.

I just am not convinced that they will kill both brothers because that is just too sad a ending, not just bittersweet. But one dying while other living HAE can be classified as bittersweet.

Since you were so adamant that Nina was not returning and you turned out to be wrong, I am going to treat this statement as speculation rather than fact or even a spoiler.
As speculation it holds as much water as any other spec I have seen and has a chance of panning out but I guess we will see.

Excuse me but how is Damon's happiness in reach if he dies? Don't be so absurd and ridiculous. Unless Julie was lying to us, Damon is gonna be happy and his happiness is Elena.

I saw this rumor earlier. Yawn. I love how an extra knows one of the biggest pieces of info from the show. They wouldn't. Damon's not going to die in a big crowd of people where extras would be able to see. He won't die at all. They've already given Damon a big death scene in 5x22 and 8x07 it would honestly be anticlimactic to do it again. This extra also said Ian was the one campaigning to die bc he didn't want to have any scenes with Nina. haha That's just ridiculous. Think abt all the things Ian has campaigned for and hasn't gotten. He's wanted to revert back to S1 Damon every damn season since. He also wanted Bamon and campaigned hard for that. Has he gotten either one? No. He was denied both and instead he's the most well-developed character on the show and they friendzoned bamon.
shareI have always had in the back of my mind that Damon will die permanently- it's the story of a tragic anti-hero. Anti-heroes are not meant to be happy or get happy endings, they are meant to find redemption and Damon is the one character they have built up, regressed and redeemed over and over until he has addressed all of his internal issues and overcome them. Katherine, Lily, Augustine, the civil war, Enzo, guilt, pain, self worth and now we are addressing the big one- Stefan.
His happiness is within reach but will he get it? He has earned it and perhaps the fact that he finally forgives Stefan will allow him to let go of everything in his past that has held him back from being happy because as we have seen from Damon's psyche, being forgiven is not what Damon needed, he needed to learn how to forgive at that is something Damon has found very difficult to do with those closest to him ie-Stefan and his Mother.
Damon is probably in the best shape he has ever been to become human again and we know now for definite that is what he wants deep inside. I hope he gets that before he dies if he is the one to bite the dust in the finale.

It's just not going to happen. You don't spend all this time developing and redeeming a character to kill them in the end. You don't wake Elena and then kill Damon. This is TVD not TWD - the writers have never been very bold when it came to death on this show. Also, Plec loves these characters too much to not give them a proper ending and a death scene in the finale for Damon wouldn't be. There wouldn't be enough time to give all the other characters closure.
Also this girl who posted the damon death rumor said Nina was back on a plane to LA and then Nina just posted an insta story filming in the woods. Not very credible.
Lindsay, I'm not saying that it will happen, I'm just speculating that it might go down that way. Death as a human might be viewed as closure for this character by some and I could see the writers serving that ending up to Damon. I don't want it personally but I would understand it. Like you I would rather see Damon happy and enjoy the redemption he has earned and I think he will.
BTW, I do not believe any of the spoilers that are being leaked/fabricated or whatever, my speculation is on a niggle or hunch that I have had for a while. I should add that I rarely predict the plot points correctly but I am usually fairly good at predicting the character arcs. I mentioned in my last post that Damon needs to forgive in order to move on, I also think he needs to forgive himself as part of that process. We have seen time and time again that what you see with Damon is not what you get. At his core he cares, he has tremendous guilt and remorse for his actions which is why he believes so fervently that he belongs in hell.

haha did i get a little aggressive? I'm sorry! It's just something new every week. Two weeks ago Stefan was dying, last week it was Enzo and now it's Damon. The possibility of Damon dying isn't crazy but I just find it hard to believe it'll be a permanent death. Also, it doesn't make sense if Kai linked Damon to Elena bc its not even revenge on Bonnie like Kai wanted to do in the first place. That's just hurting DE. You could tell he expected Damon to let Bonnie die in 6x22.

Damon life hangs in the balance every season. I do not remember a season finale when Damon wasn't dying.
