Your Least Favourite Character(s)
This show's running a long time ago, we've seen a lot of characters.
So I'm asking you, who's your least favourite of all seasons?
(Mine is Matt.Ew.)
1) Damon
He was fun in the beginning. He was unpredictable, which is what every show needs from an antagonist. Unfortunately that only lasts so long when that antagonist is a main character and eventually that character has to be nootered. Damon's character, to me, became boring, predictible and nothing more than a whinging lovesick emo. He hasn't been fun since season 2. I also think that Ian's acting is very limited. This show/role is the biggest success he has ever had and probably ever will have. Unfortunately he seems to have become bored with it and that is reflected in his performance. So that, on top of the writing and the way Julie & Dries destroyed anything and everything interesting about his character (seriously, he's good, then bad, then good, then bad, then good again) and his forced, shallow love for Elena has made me want to give up on this show. I haven't stopped watching because I enjoyed the show very much in the beginning and now I just wanna see how it ends.
2) Ripper Stefan and Silas
Stefan is more interesting when he's evil, Silas was just pathetic from the get-go. Unfortunately I find Paul's acting to be really painful to watch when he plays evil.
3) Tyler
He should've been killed after season 3 or during season 4. He became pretty useless after being made into a hybrid. I mean come on! They ran out of ideas for him so quickly that they literally just repeated themselves with his werewolf gene/curse.
4) Alaric
He was great in seasons 1-3 and with the occasional ghostly appearance here and there, but I never saw the point of bringing him back. I know he's a fan fave but what has he actually contributed to the story since being back?
5) Liv and Luke
Liv was an arrogant, unlikable bitch and I honestly feel like Luke was just there for the writers to go "Look, a gay character! See? We have diversity!"
6) Elena
Another character assassination. She started as a pretty well-rounded, somewhat strong character with a few flaws, which is what you want from your lead. But then Delena happened and she became a thinly written lovestruck Mary Sue twit. I mean come on, they actually wrote her taking herbs to hallucinate Damon when she thought he was dead. By that point she had lost her parents, Jenna, Alaric and Bonnie...but no no, it's the dead boyfriend that matters. They could've used the herb abuse thing as a metaphor for drug use as she tries to cope with everything and make it interesting but it was literally all about Damon, just like everything he she does season 4-6. From a show that started by all but saying "fvck Twilight!" she really became no better than that stupid Bella where having a man is the most important thing ever. A good character turned into a professional victim with "I heart Damon because reasons" tattooed on her forehead.
I think you're right about many things.
