Coulda picked people with better chemistry

I like Donald Glover. I think he's a really good actor but watching the new trailer, he has absolutely no chemistry with the female lead.

I think it was always hard to beat Pitt & Jolie's chemistry in the 2005 movie but I'm honestly wondering if they even *tried* to find actors with great on-screen chemistry.

You do realize that the movie was also a remake?

reply

Ya.

reply

Have you watched beyound the trailer? As I watched the first few episodes, I thought the same thing. No chemistry. But maybe, that's how it's supposed to be. Imaging being thrusted into an immediate marriage/relationship with someone you just met. It's gonna be extremely odd for a while.

reply

No. But I'm going to. I'm genuinely a Glover fan. Atlanta was fantastic!

I'm not THAT familiar with the main female lead or her work. But they seem to have no chemistry together.

reply

THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY CHEMISTRY...AT LEAST NOT FOR A WHILE...THEY ARE TWO STRANGERS JAMMED TOGETHER.

reply

They should at least have *some* chemistry imo. Just so their "fake marriage" to at least feel believable. In the world of the show at least.

reply

I finished the season, and it was not meant to be.

It said on the show that they are aware they are incompatible, but despite that they still want to be together.

reply

you should not judge things based on a 2 minutes trailer.

reply

No.

OK fine.

I think it's better if they don't have a charismatic celebrity kind of immediate chemistry.
I think the two characters are actually pretty good, but the plots and scenes are ridiculous.
The absurdity of the plots force the series to be about their relationship.
