The new Pennywise looks like an evil cartoon clown
This new character seems very cartoonish, full of CGI and poorly designed to me. Not creepy at all.

shareHow about the constant "Kubrick Stare" the actor does to try to make the clown more menacing? It looks like you said, a cartoon evil clown from Scooby Doo.
shareAgreed. Speaking of which, Bill Skarsgard actually talked about that on a recent episode of "Conan." I believe he mentioned that his brother had some sort of inspiration behind it. This adaptation was still WAY too much of a cartoon based killer clown though. Completely laughable!
shareWell, at least the new take is closer to the book. I read the novel and Tim Curry's take is more like something you'd see in an episode of Are You Afraid Of The Dark? or Goosebumps.
shareNo, not true. Simply by reading the part about Georgie and pennywise totally invalidates what you said. The clown in this movie looks like a villain from spawn or marvel comic book villain. What child would talk to a clown that looks like the one in the recent movie.
shareIf you read the book, you'll know that Pennywise isn't in it all that much. He comes up about 5 or 6 times and thats it.
shareYeah the CGI was overkill and the silly Scooby voice truly ruined any chance of anyone being scared - including the kids in the movie.
