Why are you so invested in the accuracy of ratings on IMDb? Are you a producer, or a shareholder, or anyone else who will get some sort of compensation as a result of this or any other movie doing well? If not, then be quiet. The system isn't going to change, and you're just going to be yelled at and mocked by everyone else on the boards.
If you enjoy a movie, does it matter if someone else gives it a 1? Does that make you like it less? If you hate a movie, does it matter if someone else gives it a 10? Does that force you to like it more? Do you thus feel that IMDb ratings artificially influence your own opinions about movies? Does this make you feel as though your thoughts and emotions are being swayed beyond your own control, like you're being brainwashed?
I'm really hoping you don't say yes to any of these questions, because that would be ridiculous. IMDb's ratings system DOES NOT MATTER. Other people's ratings should NEVER control your own decision on whether to see a movie. You have the power to see whatever movie you want, and other people have the same power. Let people like or dislike what they want. Does it hurt you? Here, the answer should be no.
And, by the way, you're doing the same thing with this post that you're railing at in regards to the ratings. You say:
Suicide Squad is gonna be mediocre and pandering at best, but idiots have already made their mind up and will praise it to high heaven
You've already given it a grade in your mind of mediocre and assume that only "idiots" want to see it. This is the verbal equivalent to giving an early rating. Only yours is low, whereas the ones you are complaining about are high. Maybe climb down off of your high horse and wait to see the movie before tearing it down. You know, kind of like what you want the early high-raters to do?
Hypocrisy, thy name is INTERNET.
