Which subplot was more terrible?
1. Joker-Harley love Angle.
2. Natasha-Hulk love Angle.
Number 1, because it wasn't established in the film well enough why their relationship works the way it does.
It doesn't matter which one is more true to the comics, because these aren't comics, they're movies. If the story in one movie doesn't make sense, then it's worse than the one that does, even if the first is closer to the comic.
The story is all that matters.
Joker and Harley, easy. Why is this even a question?
Also, neither of those are really "subplots".
Make all the arguments you want about HulkWidow coming out of nowhere, it's a thematically interesting relationship that serves to inform and advance both characters. You'd be losing something if you took it out of the film. Taking Joker or Harley out of the film loses you nothing, and if their relationship is trying to tell you anything about them as characters than the movie is incredibly inconsistent with what that is.

Thank you.
Uh oh spaghettios - Zack Snyder, David Ayer, Bryan Singer (2016)
You're right, we would be missing something if they took the Hulk/Widow angle out.... a good nap during the movie, because that's how sh!tty that entire angle was. Seriously, just Disney imposing their "Beauty and Beast" story, only with way less build up. I was just waiting for an animated Gaston to try and take down the Hulk, would have made the movie better.
shareBlack Widow is a beast.

Without Joker and Harley you would have missed the whole damn point of Harley, her origin, her and the SS getting rescued by Joker.
Yeah missing nothing
I'm not saying it was perfect. I think Joker was poorly written. I think the abuse NEEDED to be there. Joker was not intimidating enough. The Stockholm syndrome portions of Harley needed to be shown to explain how she could love a man so evil. Plus I think all of Leto's great acting scenes were probably in those scenes.
But it still was a major point in the film.
Never Drumpf! Never Hillary!
And what exactl was the point? Those things happened, and what purpose did they serve, in terms of plot or theme?

I know this is typical bashing thread and some people will bite my butt if I took favor of either A or B. But I really thought Hulk/Widow's relationship was cheesy and ridiculous. At some parts I was rolling my eyes.
I know, what Joss was trying to achieve there. But the problem is that "The Beauty and The Beast" re-imagining works better with Elizabeth Ross. On top of that It's one of the best Romantic stories Marvel ever produced(my second favorite). Bruce always tries to get rid of Monster(Hulk) because he wants to be with Betty. He loves Betty. That's why I thought The Incredible Hulk was good. Because they explored that relationship pretty good.
Although Harley and Joker's relationship wasn't 100% true to the comics or cartoon series. But atleast It was there and helped us understand how and why Dr. Harleen became Harley Quinn.
That's just my opinion though...
I thought you might be some sort of sorcery savant, but it turns out you're just a brat -- and you're about to get spanked...
I liked the Incredibke Hulk too, but the way I always took the ending of that movie is that no matter how much they love each other, Bruce and Betty both resigned to the idea that they could never be together because the Hulk made them incompatible and Bruce's arc in that movie is about giving up on the idea that Hulk is something he can or should get rid of rather than control.
