Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ Is Worldwide Top Film, Ahead of ‘Napoleon,’ ‘Hunger Games’

Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s blood-soaked Bollywood epic “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor, emerged as the No. 1 film globally with $42.1 million, according to data published by ComScore.

“Animal” released across 38 global territories. The worldwide gross total includes $6.1 million in North America where it released across 850 locations and opened at No. 7. In India, the film opened at No. 1, grossing $28.8 million over the weekend.

halve that amount, drop that into the marketing budget, and see how many theaters they BOUGHT OUT to bump their numbers.

I've physically walked in to "SOLD OUT" showings of Indian films here in the states, while they were showing, to see a completely empty theater. They buy all the seats, theater plays empty, it counts to thier "opening numbers".

I see these weird, random indian films at our empty theaters all the time.
