Those who saw it: How were the action sequences?

For those that have seen it, were there plenty of action sequences in the film? The trailer looks like it's full of action but trailers can be deceiving. I'm hoping for a good balance of action and dialogue and not just an hour of talking and a 5 minute action sequence at the end.

I'm just asking cuz I'm going to take my Dad who's a big action/horror guy. He liked Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter's silly but entertaining action sequences. I hope this film is fun and entertaining. Thanks for any help!

"Silly but entertaining" is a good way to sum up the action sequences in this movie as well. They weren't as ingenious as some of the sequences in Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, but it's still fun seeing socialites fight zombies.

There are several scenes where zombies attack. But remember, this is still a retelling of Pride and Prejuduce, so there is still plenty of dialogue.

Action was really good. The movie as a whole is heavy on the Pride and Prejudice, and lighter on the Zombies aspect, but the action is solid. Its not like Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter....and that, in my opinion, is a good thing.

It was actually better than I expected. It was a pretty fun movie. In haven't read either "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies", nor "Pride And Prejudice" the original Jane Austen novel. I knew about story, and a few years ago I think I've seen parts of one of the movie or TV adaptations of the classic novel...but that's about it.

I liked the mixture of action and dialogue, and the humour in it.

Usually the movies released during this time of the year suck...this one didn't...at least not for me.

Thanks for your answers everyone! 😃

It reminded me of the old Chinese martial arts films, outrageous and unbelieveable but entertaining. FYI it was heavy on pride and prejudice side as mentioned earlier so don't go expecting a total horror film.

I think it had a good balance of action, drama, and humor.

I can't agree with the previous contributors. The action scenes had nothing on Chloe Moritz's scenes in Kick-Ass. They could not compare with the amazing final battle as performed by Summer Glau in Serenity. They were not well choreographed, the sword-fight between Wickham and Darcy excepted. Good violence should be inventive and witty. This was brutal and -- jeez, I can't believe Elizabeth didn't take advantage of an obvious opportunity to take out the elbow of a huge thug hired by Lady de Bourgh!

It being PG13 kinda nurfed it's potential imo.
