This is not a comedy?

When I first watched the trailer, I was quite surprised to see that there seemed to be no hints of humor whatsoever. I haven't read the original book but with such a silly premise, one would expect it to be a comedy film. Is this really a film about people in the eighteenth century fighting zombies that's supposed to be taken seriously?

reply

No comedy.
The comical thing is the movie itself... with zombies. To compare it with the known story.

Lincoln Lee: I lost a partner.
Peter Bishop: I lost a universe!

Like the other film adapted from one of Seth's books (Abe Lincoln vampire hunter)
The joke ends with the title.

Of course it was a comedy. It was played totally droll and deadpan (lol).

That some people in this thread have seen the movie and still can't tell that it's a comedy, is baffling. It's a Jane Austen story. With zombies!

reply

Yes, it is a comedy. Nearly every single scene was humorous. People are just too stupid to get the humor.
