People that did not like this are idiots.

This was great fun.

I am really disappointed in American audiences that they did not "get" it.

I suppose they expected a British Regency version of mindless movies like Zombieland so the fact that the humor was mostly clever dialogue was perceived as "boring" to American audiences.

People who assume that only they know what is good in subjective areas like film are idiots.

Movie sucked.... It was a poor version of P&P combined with a really bad zombie flick that didn't even have R rated gore. Half the time they didn't even bother to put the zombies in make-up, like when Bella Heatcoate is riding alone and encounters a big bald zombie like 20 minutes in, they just shoot him from far away and behind and you can't even tell its a zombie cause the film is so cheap. All this movie has going for it is decent casting but the script sucks, nothing in it was funny or exciting. Only an idiot would champion this mess.

I thought it was great fun and better than both the books (the one I was forced to study at O Level 36 years ago, and the Zombie spoof). If there'd been swordfights and zombies in Austen, I'd have been a far happier girl back then!

The use of so much of the original dialogue gave it a curious air of authenticity, and reminded me of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell (the Napoleonic Wars with wizards and faeries). The cast played it straight and were clearly having a lot of fun. It's the only Austen adaptation I've ever enjoyed.

It was much better than I expected - they played it STRAIGHT. I give them props for that.
I like how they basically substitued zombies for the French and ran with it. Even though the four horsemen appear and all looks grim, the characters keep a stiff upper lip and don't declare "It's the apocalypse!!!" like American films do.

I like how their uppity noble prejudices were of more concern than the zombies - who to them were no more repugnant than any commoner.

The original story is much about keeping up appearances - and they do the same here. I just think the girls' family appeared too comfy - they should have been at the point of burning the furniture.

Heh-and the reverand simply not involving himself with the zombies in any way - because it wasn't part of the world he was predisposed to deal with.

I thought it was a nice balance. But really, if you haven't watched/read Pride & Prejudice you should stay away from this - there isn't enough for people who are ONLY interested in zombies.

Also, this far, far, outshines Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter.
