I'm shook!

Me too! How could this brave and stunning movie flop?

reply

Blame patriarchy!

reply

LOL TRUE

reply

Have you seen the film?

Besides, it's based on a real event. Hardly propaganda if it's telling us the factual truth.

reply

If anyone who's watched the film will tell you, it's not a man hating film. Sure Ben Whishaw's August is presented as a kind and loving man and his love for Rooney Mara's Ona is central to the film. And most of the women won't leave without their son's even Claire Foy's Salome goes back to rescue her son.

Not really shocked it didn't do big business, it's a film that probably would have benefitted been on a streaming site and the subject matter isn't one the masses will go for entertaining night out.

reply

Are you saying that women not wanting their young daughters to be raped by drunken old men is "liberal feminist propaganda"?

reply

It's a great film, but it isn't the type that is going to make a lot of money at the box office. It has nothing to do with feminism or liberal propaganda, whatever that is.
