Lucas made ONE good film. the original, and it was a collaborative effort with many talented people, including his wife who helped oversee editing apparently saving the film

Lucas is a shill who made one good film due to lots of help and adversity, then put merchandizing and money above art and story telling in the originals
then in the prequels was surrounded by yes men who didn't reign him in. and that time thought cgi and effects and "cool lightsaber fights!" were more important than story, plot, character development dialogue.
he tried to blame fans as difficult to please, He seemingly forgot the basics of filming and what made ANH and ESB so magical, and just couldn't take responsibility for the mess of a story that was the prequels
