It's really nostalgic for me as a Gen X

When I am watching this it's less about the scandal, but more about looking back into my past. I remember this time vividly as I was in my early twenties. All the stuff about the internet, Baywatch, VHS, music, fashion is hitting me hard. I remember going "what the heck is the internet" and logging into AOL for the first time and it was right around this time. I recall it being the Wild Wild West without regulation or care. It started the dot com boom, which I was a big part of in Silicon Valley.

What I find most interesting is the lack of drug use. I assumed Tommy et all were doing a whole lot more drugs than they show in this. Everyone in Motley Crue was an addict and here it's barely a blip. Tommy was a notorious drinker too, but in this it looks like he wasn't doing that much after the marriage. Maybe he was somewhat sober after they got hitched, I don't know.

Anyway, for those who remember the 90s, I find this to be an interesting snapshot of that era. I actually wish they opened it up more, showing other actors portraying celebrities from that era or showing more about Hollywood at this time. That would have been a blast.

Same. It was just like that. Clunky dial up servers, news and commercial websites just starting out. I laughed when there was a scene of someone doing a boolean searches on AltaVista. I thought I was so savvy to know how to do that. 😂. Plus the tv show culture. Bay Watch, Hard Copy and The Jay Leno Tonight Show being the epicenter of late night comedy.

You're not alone! I felt the exact same way while watching it! Like your good self I was in my early twenties as well and with so much going on at the time, especially with all the technological innovation that was both connecting the world around us and making it feel smaller, it really just felt like an exciting time to be alive!🤩
