It's really nostalgic for me as a Gen X
When I am watching this it's less about the scandal, but more about looking back into my past. I remember this time vividly as I was in my early twenties. All the stuff about the internet, Baywatch, VHS, music, fashion is hitting me hard. I remember going "what the heck is the internet" and logging into AOL for the first time and it was right around this time. I recall it being the Wild Wild West without regulation or care. It started the dot com boom, which I was a big part of in Silicon Valley.
What I find most interesting is the lack of drug use. I assumed Tommy et all were doing a whole lot more drugs than they show in this. Everyone in Motley Crue was an addict and here it's barely a blip. Tommy was a notorious drinker too, but in this it looks like he wasn't doing that much after the marriage. Maybe he was somewhat sober after they got hitched, I don't know.
Anyway, for those who remember the 90s, I find this to be an interesting snapshot of that era. I actually wish they opened it up more, showing other actors portraying celebrities from that era or showing more about Hollywood at this time. That would have been a blast.
