2500 Cavalry and Horses

How did THEY get down there?

Calvary is a hill near Jerusalem where Jesus was executed, according to Christian mythology.

They never talked about the opposite end of the gorge. A small river runs through it, so you assume it opens up downstream. Most gorges do.

So you’d have to assume the cavalry rode in from the downstream side of the gorge. Along with the trucks and materials which built the science labs.

Of course this raises the question — how is that end of the gorge guarded? Wouldn’t it be the obvious path for hollow men? Vs climbing a long vertical incline with about 99% chance of being blown off it?

Just a lot of questions they didn’t answer.

Of course the big one is how are only two people enough to secure a huge perimeter and they’re not even supposed to coordinate? Blah blah phalanx guns, they were both nearly overrun without the other.

And the defense was kind of self-defeating. The mines were too close to the fence and blew it away like a Bangalore torpedo.

Did they say there was an Earthquake? Can't remember. Maybe that closed off the gorge for the mutants.
But ya - why doesn't Sigourney send 100 soldiers working together to keep them at bay.

reply

The first soldier talked about the ends of the gorge being surrounded by landmines and auto turrets.
