I didn't know Agatha Christie was married to a black man
I'm all for untraditional casting, but when you're dealing with real people, relatively well known people I think you should stick to reality.

shareAgreed. So stupid and obvious virtue signaling.
And disrespectful to the person whose life’s work they’re taking advantage of considering they treated her like a disheveled weirdo. Agatha was many things but not a disheveled weirdo (married to a random black guy.)
Yeah, since she's actually a real person, there was no reason to make her husband black. Really doesn't make sense.
shareIt was completely fucking stupid and went a long way to ruin what was otherwise a fairly fun and charming film. Stupid, stupid decision. Max Mallowan was a real person!
For that matter, I didn't really like the portrayal of Agatha either. I get that the movie was meant to be light-hearted and not serious, but still, the portrayal had virtually no grounding in reality.
Here's another one, they made the producer John Woolf straight. Sure he married three times, but was widely suspected to be gay.
shareCan you imagine the libs reaction to casting MLKs wife as a white girl.🤣
shareThey also made Richard Attenborough way too tall.
