Sweet & Fun

I honestly feel burnt out on Superhero content nowadays. I don't hate 'em, they just don't excite me as much as they used to, anymore.

But this was such an enjoyable watch. I like the characters. The jokes were mostly funny.

Mantis was great. Not much else to say really, just had a fun time watching it.

I felt this Mantis was the dark side of dating the pixie girl. the one that lands you in prison. it was creepy.

She was obsessive & kinda scary. I honestly liked it.

She was a bit happy-go-lucky in her previous MCU appearances.

Nice to see she has a dark side too.

reply

You could do a whole movie on her background with ego alone.

Thinking back, I really liked this. It does ad to the mythos.

reply

Yeah. Plus a character like Mantis isn't probably gonna get much screen time or backstory in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Glad she at least got to shine in this.

reply

But I like that! The show took an unrealistic trope, the manic pixie dream girl, and had a bit of absurd fun with it, like they had a bit of absurd fun with the idea of spreading Christmas through the Galaxy.

Because the manic pixie dream girl who'll drag you along on a drunken Hollywood crime spree is a LOT more fun than the standard one!

reply

This will become a timeless Christmas classic, played every year. Just watch.

reply

I wouldn't even mind that. This is honestly one of the better Christmas specials/films I've seen in while.

Pretty darn good.
