How Come Sabine Appears To Be A Trainee Jedi In This?

This doesn't stack up at all with what I remember from Rebels.

Pretty sure she was a Mandalorian, whom at one point had the Darksaber (?) much like the Mandalorian in The Mandalorian but despite this, and although Ahsoka was in Rebels, I don't recall at any point her being shown to have any Jedi powers.

Why bother with such a character shifting retcon?

reply

She doesn't have any force powers. From what I remember, Kanan Jarrus was training her with the Darksaber.

She was more like an ammunition expert in the show. Explosives, weapons & shit..

She shouldn't be able to last in a fight with someone who has force abilities but maybe they're retconing her character. 🤷‍♂️

The same reason everyone has force powers in star wars...cause eventually everyone has force powers in star wars.

It's actually kind of annoying.

You're not wrong. I was talking about this on one of the DT boards a while back and how it was one of the killers of those films.

Star Wars was always Arthurian and about the "chosen" one.

Maybe not explicitly so in the OT, where we had Luke just known as a kid who's father had been a great Jedi but even there, it was his lineage which was why he was destined for greatness.

With LTJ it was like the real word SJW mindset crept in and (before it was instantly retconned!) Rian Johnson had Rey as a "nobody" because "anybody can be special". Real world brownie points for Johnson but mythology destroyed for real fans.

Problem is if everyone can be special then no one is actually special, and hence you lose the importance of the character.

reply

You can say it's annoying, and I somewhat agree...

BUT...

It was alluded to in Rebels as she trained with the Dark Sabre.
She was able to "handle" it a crap-ton better than Din Djarin did in The Mandalorian.
She did not have the difficulty... but it is kinda lame... I'll be cool with it as long as they don't bring Rose Tico or some Sequel Trilogy crap into it.

They never said she DIDN'T have force abilities... there is that.

reply

Rose Tico should have her own spinoff where she marries Jar Jar Binks

reply

in the episode where she being trained the older jedi guy says that the force is in all living things and can be used with focus and determination and stuff.

It seems she has no powers according to what it´s told by the droid in Episode 2, she is just good with the saber due to her attune to it, that was previously the Darksaber. At least it was what i could gather.
