Does anyone really like the Snatch Game?

Before anyone bites my head off, I'm curious to know how young people relate to this particular competition because The Match Game went off tv MANY MOONS ago. What's their connection to it? Because, most of the time, it's just not very funny, imo.

However, the thing that probably bothers me the most, is the laughter. It's VERY phoney and sometimes Rupaul's laugh (which I love,btw) almost feels dubbed in or just plain too much. That said, I guess it is a vehicle for the queens to do impersonations and show their other talents and versatility.

Most are awful! I can do without it, but if they make a go of it, make it quick! The longer they hang around, the tackier it gets! Alaska's comment with "come up and fk me in the arse sometime" was over the top! Mae wasn't that dirty; more innuendo than anything! She would have been jailed doing more than that! ;-/

Completely agree. Mae West was all about the innuendo and double entendres. "come fk me in that ass" is pretty direct. LOL

But I think that was the point of her being direct on her last sentence. Because it was over the top and so out of character from what she was saying all game, it worked. I feel it's almost like when someone always uses innuendos and eventually like is screw it and say what they mean. I've seen that happen in comedy. I'm not saying this Snatch game was good or bad, I just thought the point of her doing that was for comedic value.

As far as Snatch Game... I don't know. I think if it went away I wouldn't care and if it stayed I wouldn't care but they should at least make it more natural. The editing sometimes makes it hard to tell what people's genuine reaction was. Like if a Queen bombed a joke, sometimes I hear like a small awkward laugh from Ru edited out and it just cuts to someone blankly starting at them like "what?"

To answer the OP's question... no, I do not like the Snatch Game, but not because it's based on an old game show.

Most of the queens suck at impersonation, it's only a very small handful that have been even close to funny. And yes, RuPaul's over the top laughter is enough to make me want to stuff a sock in his mouth.

FYI: ABC resurrected it this past summer. It aired for 10 episodes and was hosted by Alec Baldwin. Trying to be as provocative as Celebrity Family Feud (and maybe Snatch game), some the match questions were not that subtle and actually begged for a certain sexual answer, unlike the original which could be subtle but ribald at the same time.

Some of the celebrities on the new version were Jack McBrayer, Rosie McDonnell, David Alan Grier, Sheryl Crow, Ellie Kemperer.

As for Drag Race, I think Snatch Game is okay. From what I've heard, it's filmed for several hours, so they edit it down to only show the jokes that land or the jokes that bomb. I'm sure the majority of the time in real time is just a bore. I can't imagine a queen like Alaska or Alyssa being "on" for 4 hours straight.

Wow, I can't believe they tried to bring that one back. I'm surprised it lasted 10 episodes.

They are showing the original ones on one of the retro channels with Gene Rayburn, It's worth a look just to see what everyone is wearing.

I like snatch game, especially when there are a few that are really funny, this time having Raven and JuJubee made it twice as good.

I love Snatch Game because it highlights the contestant's minds. Anyone can play dress-up, but few are quick witted and can take that character to another level.

A lot of people have downed Alaska for dirtying up her portrayal of Mae West, but how boring would it have been if she just sat there and quoted Mae? Tati did a pretty spot on impression of the doughnut licker by acting dumb, but nobody wanted to see that. It would have been so much better if she added some spice and ramped it up.

I enjoy it but the editing kills it for me simply because you don't get everyone's responses. They skip over people and I don't think that's fair.

That's the same with the lipsyncs. It sometimes feels manipulated. It would be good to get to see the whole thing. One of the things I like about this season so far is that they haven't bothered with cutaways of the other queens talking about the lipsyncs. We're just getting to watch them. However, they could show a heck of a lot more still

Depends... I started watching the show from the first season so when Snatch Game first happened in Season 2, I thought it was awesome. Some of them have sucked (Season 5 and 8, 8 without a doubt being the worst one ever because not a single queen was good) but I've often enjoyed them. It's fun to watch car crashes (Max's Sharon Needles, Phi Phi's Lady Gaga) and see people who are actually talented at impressions and comedy (most of season 6, most of season 4, Jinkx, Ginger and Kennedy).

Like Ross Matthews said, I live for the Snatch. I think it gives the queens a chance to showcase their comedy skills and their make-up skills. It also gives the queens a chance to play off each other and try to upstage each other with comedy. It's usually my favorite episode of the season. That being said, some of the queens are sooooo bad that it is comedic. Kenya Michael's Beyonce ?? Milk's Julia Child ??? Trinity K Bonet's whatever ?? LaGanja's Rachel Zoe ?? Cringe-worthy.

I think it's safe to say that queens should stop playing Nancy Grace. Who is that other queen that played Nancy Grace last year? That was just as bad as Detox's Nancy Grace.
