they think its deep. they think dark means intelligent and profound. had the movies ended at TDK this would have been a perfect two films. shame we got this junk

shareThe ending of TDK was asking for a third film. The aftermath of what happened to Batman after Dent's downfall and the Joker's anarchic reign was very much something I wanted to see. I don't think TDKR was a great movie, and it was a big letdown in a lot of ways.
For me, I think the third film in the series should have started a bit closer to the end of TDK. Batman being actively hunted by the authorities is glossed over entirely. Frankly, I almost feel like this should have been a tetrology with the fourth film featuring recluse Bruce at the start, but the third could have shown us some of the middle problems as Bruce tried to be philanthropist, hero, and hunted prey. We also could have gotten a better intro to Catwoman so Bruce and Selina's relationship could grow more. I felt like their relationship in TDKR, including how it ends, was more about how things "should" go than organically within the story. They could have seeded Bane, too.
Also, and I know there is no good answer here, but I think that the Joker got short shrift. His storyline clearly wasn't over. I recognize that they couldn't recast without serious problems, but that character's story should have continued, too. What they did there (just ignore it) was fine; there was no good answer.

Yeah, TDKR makes it clear that Batman just disappeared that day. Batman Begins ends with the Joker making his calling card known, so Batman doesn't really have much of a long-term impact in the Nolanverse.
shareUmmm Batman was the one who inspired the people of Gotham to take their city back. You seem to think that the amount of time that he's wearing the batsuit somehow equates to his impact. Maybe he didn't have as many batsuit scenes as you would have wanted (and that's a very stupid complaint) but his impact on Gotham is quite clear by the end of the trilogy.

shareYeah, the "Batman" fanboys LOVE watching misery. They like their films utterly gray and miserable, and object to any moments of lightness, joy, or humor.

Nah, TDK is a just a good movie. It aint't that deep. Im not a Batman or any superhero fanboy at all.
shareI agree, I thought it was a good movie, the only recent Batman movie that I've watched more than once!
What really surprised me is that the Batman fanboys didn't seem to love "The Batman", even though it gave them all the misery they could want.
I didn't hate The Batman but I didn't love it either. If they had done away with Catwoman it would have been a lot better.
